How to make a success of your video interview?

20/6/2019

Would you like to conduct interviews with professionals or employees? Here are a few tips that are sure to make your interview a success.

Upstream writing

First of all, write your video interview carefully. Beforehand, prepare the questions you're going to ask your interviewer, and send them to him or her in advance. This will help to avoid blanks and hesitations on the part of your speaker, while avoiding the appearance of reading from a script.

Attitude on the day

On the day of your shoot, make sure your speaker is as comfortable as possible, clear in what he or she is saying without sounding like he or she is reciting a script. It's essential to appear natural, calm and confident. In video, body language is of the utmost importance. Even the slightest visual clumsiness is automatically noticed, and will detract from the quality of your video. So make your speaker feel at ease before he or she speaks.

Choosing the video format

Also, choose formats that fit well with the interview model. You can opt for question panels that replace those of the classic interview. You can also film offbeat, innovative formats like Fast & Curious or Fast Life, for example. The key is to put your interviewee at ease and make your video format dynamic. This will increase the number of views on social networks and bring you more traffic.

The choice of location

To ensure that your interview is of the highest possible quality, choose a suitable location. Don't shoot in a place that's too noisy or, on the contrary, too empty. Background noise and echo reduce the quality of your videos and make them less pleasant to watch for your users. Make sure that everyone wants to keep watching your video by ensuring that its quality is beyond reproach. Choose a quiet, bright room where the light changes very little. The quality of your video depends first and foremost on your choice of location. It's a point not to be neglected!

Vary your shots

When filming, vary the scale of your shots. This will make your interview less monotonous and add dynamism to your video. Switching from a half-round shot, to a tight shot, to an American shot of your speaker will tone up your format in a very simple way.

Make sure you do all the necessary checks

Finally, once you've finished filming your shots, be sure to check their quality. The first thing to do is to check that the microphone is working properly, or that you can hear very little of the speaker. Also check that your image is of good quality, that it's not blurred, that the light doesn't change during the shot, etc. And finally, check the framing. Finally, check the framing. Make sure that your speaker can be seen in full, without too much air over his or her head. This will make your interview more professional and attract more people.
