[1/6] Video transition tutorials: the hand transition

July 26, 2018

Boris, consultant at EasyMovie, launches a series of tutorials on transitions you can use in your videos. Here's the first episode:

Are the cuts in your videos not very sexy, or are you looking to make a video that's a little more dynamic and original? Boris knows all the transitions you can make, and he'll give you his tips!

The first transition described in this tutorial is very simple: simply place your hand on the lens and remove it. This basic transition can be applied in three different ways.

The introduction

The first use is the introduction. It's so simple! Simply start the video with your hand on the lens, remove it and start the video. You can use this movement for every introduction, or several times in the same video.

Change location

The second way to use it is to mark a change of location. Always start by placing your hand on the lens, then stop recording, change location, start recording with your hand on the lens, and your transition is complete in a simple and original way. Don't hesitate to repeat it several times in the video, without overdoing it.

Conclude

Finally, while putting your hand on the lens helps to introduce a video, it also helps with the conclusion. To end, finish your call to action or conclusion, place your hand on the lens and stop recording. On the black background created by your hand, you can even insert a final word.

If you liked this transition, wait for the next one: hint: it's a camera move.
