The Weekly Video Recap: the solution of internal communication?

November 29, 2018

A concept adopted by startups, the weekly summary is becoming increasingly popular. Are you familiar with this process? And why is it so beneficial to your internal communications? We'll tell you now!

What is the Weekly Summary?

Also known as"Recap Hebdo" - as our dear CEO puts it in the video below - it's a summary of what you've done this week and what you're going to do next. It's a mixture of what you've done and what you're going to do. You're free to do it in any format you like, whether PowerPoint, e-mail or video, as we do.

However, we do recommend that you use this last point, as it contributes to your corporate video culture, as we saw in our previous article. Remember, you don't have to be Alain Delon to be at ease in front of the camera.

Keeping an eye on your team

As CEO or Chairman, you may have already found yourself unable to keep up with your teams. Your diary is full to bursting and you don't know what they're up to. Well, that's all over now. With weekly video summaries, your departments can play this new game, and all you have to do is watch their respective films.

What's more, as we've already mentioned in an article, they not only make messages easier to understand than in written form, but also save time. Add to this the fact that you won't be the only one viewing their videos, but all your teams too. They can then be approached directly via your audiovisual creations. All these points contribute to improving your internal communication, refining relations between colleagues.

Creating links between departments

It's not uncommon for companies to see a lack of communication between employees. Weekly summaries are the answer to this problem. It' s all about teamwork, mutual support and acting. You'll be amazed at the results, because they'll stimulate discussion. Your teams will be able to share their shooting tips, and why not, produce a video involving several departments.

Add to this the fact that it's not just about sharing, it's above all about recreation. Making a video is a great way to let off steam or share an emotion. There are hundreds of ideas to choose from: whether you're feeling poetic by making a recap using only rhymes, or by placing quotes from well-known films, you're free to propose your own ideas. Finally, don't hesitate to add your own bloopers, or short making-of videos at the end to share behind-the-scenes footage!

How do we use it?

As a reminder, all our videos are produced using our smartphone application. We have therefore created a personalized storyboard for each department. In less than thirty minutes, any team can shoot, edit and broadcast a video automatically on our sharing platform. All that's left to do is pop some popcorn and watch other teams' videos.

Now that you're familiar with the concept, you know what you have to do: get out your smartphones and recap!

We hope we've inspired you to use our weekly company summaries. If you'd like to make your own, visit our website by clicking on the link below ⬇️⬇️
